Dr. Simonsen is a Prescott native who has returned home to provide exceptional periodontal care to his community. He completed his undergraduate studies at Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Applied Biological Sciences. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, where he distinguished himself academically and earned induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Dr. Simonsen continued his advanced training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he completed his periodontal residency and earned his Master of Science degree in periodontics.

During his education, Dr. Simonsen received multiple honors, including the William S. Kramer Award of Excellence. His research on radiographic analysis of closed sinus augmentation outcomes has contributed valuable insights to the field of periodontics.

Dr. Simonsen’s clinical expertise encompasses comprehensive periodontal disease management, advanced bone and sinus augmentation procedures, precision implant placement and minimally invasive microsurgical techniques. He has received specialized training in periodontal and implant microsurgery and stays current with the latest advances in digital surgical guides, CBCT-based treatment planning and laser applications.

As a patient-focused doctor, Dr. Simonsen emphasizes clear communication, evidence-based treatment and personalized care. His approach centers on taking time to educate patients about their treatment options while creating a comfortable environment that puts even anxious patients at ease. He is committed to delivering predictable, excellent outcomes through his advanced clinical training and expertise.

Dr. Simonsen is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and is dedicated to continuing education and clinical excellence to provide the most advanced care available to his patients.

Outside the office, Dr. Simonsen enjoys hiking the beautiful trails of Northern Arizona, working on vehicles and participating in local community events. He is thrilled to return to Prescott and join the team at Prescott Periodontics & Implant Dentistry, serving the community that shaped him both personally and professionally.
